Taylor Haugen Foundation - Legacy of Faith & Character

Recently, University of Florida Quarterback, Tim Tebow, was featured on ESPN discussing the maroon bracelet he always wears.  Inscribed on the bracelet is the phrase “Don’t Quit, Never Give Up – T #80”.

Taylor Haugen Foundation LogoIt is the signature of the Taylor Haugen Foundation, created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville, Florida High School student who passed away after an injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008.

The ESPN story told how Taylor and Tim touched each other’s lives: You can view the Video on ESPN at:  http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4714212

Taylor Haugen
Taylor’s loss was felt around our community. But, his legacy of service lives on through the foundation to help provide scholarships to faith-based, outgoing, community-oriented, academically-proficient athletes in the local community. On a personal level, I have a connection to Taylor through his father, Brian Haugen. Taylor’s Father and I attended Marion Military Institute together back in 1984-1985 and are members of the Destin Chamber of Commerce.

Being community minded and because this touched me personally as a father, we decided to donate a website to the Taylor Haugen Foundation.  We also provide the website hosting and help the foundation with updates to the site.

The design group at Bit-Wizards, led by Jonathan Clark, VP of Design & Marketing, along with Web Designers Jen Flora and Steve Adams, worked with the Foundation to create a unique design that would honor the memory of this unique young man.

The site can be viewed at: http://taylorhaugen.org

Bit-Wizards is proud to support the Taylor Haugen Foundation. If Taylor’s story resonates with any of you, please help the Foundation with its Scholarship Program that promotes Taylor’s commitment to faith and character, and help the legacy of an extraordinary young man lives on in the lives of others.

It really is amazing to see how this young man's life has affected so many people. I had dinner with Brian and Kathy Haugen recently and had the opportunity to see first hand how Taylor's legacy lives on in the lives of others.
